Bernadette: In 2015 Dacre Morris were invited to dance with the Traditional Ilmington Morris Men at the annual Gardens Day in the village.
Tish: Prague! We mixed with so many dancers from other countries – great camaraderie despite the language barrier … singing Landlords from the balcony of a beer keller.
Amanda: Prague – teaching the Okey Cokey to a group of flamenco dancers.
Tish: Cross Channel Ferry … dancing on a glittery stage with a mirrored ceiling.
Mel: In 1984 Dacre represented Lewisham in Antony, its twin suburb in Paris. We were guests of Faribole, the local folk dancing group. We learnt some French dances and taught them to Morris dance. In April 1984 Faribole came to Lewisham. At the Town Hall reception the then Mayor of Lewisham joined us in a dance!
Tish: City of London … processing with hundreds of other dancers across the Millennium Bridge.
Dawn: There’s nothing quite like dancing in front of a huge crowd by the Cutty Sark on a sunny Saturday in Greenwich. With hankies flying, sticks clashing and bells jangling it feels like we put on a proper show.
Tish: Anstey Ale. Terrific – even in the monsoon year when a river ran through the marquee as we ate our dinner. Bonding!
Tish: Rochester Sweeps. Two sets up for Bampton Side Step.
